Eastmont School Board is assessing its next steps after District #4 Director Joy Dawe submitted a letter of resignation effective immediately shortly before Monday night's meeting.

Assistant Superintendent Matt Charlton said Dawe's personal situation had changed significantly in the last few months and she and her husband will now be moving to another state.

"In the meantime she's trying to simplify some of her obligations in preparation for the move, which includes stepping down from the board position," Charlton said.

The board will likely have a better idea of what the process to find Dawe's replacement will look like by their next meeting April 18th.

At some point applications will be taken and interviews will be scheduled. The replacement will serve as the District #4 director until the position comes up for election in November of 2023.

Dawe defeated John "Stew" Steward Jr. for the Director #4 seat by 112 votes last November.
