Douglas County Commissioner Kyle Steinberg was arrested for driving under the influence early Tuesday morning.

According to the East Wenatchee Police Department, the incident first began around 1:27 am. The reporting party, which was in the McDonald's drive-thru at 201 Valley Mall Parkway, told Rivercom that some other people in the drive thru were being unruly and calling others in the drive-thru names while appearing intoxicated.

A short time later, police arrived as Steinberg was exiting the drive-thru. A traffic stop was initiated and the responding officer noted the obvious odor of alcohol as well as a driver that seemed intoxicated.

The driver, identified as Steinberg, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence after a DUI investigation. Steinberg gave two breathalyzer samples of .154 and .152, just under double the legal limit of .08. He was eventually release from the East Wenatchee Police Department.
