Douglas County PUD Advising Customers After Strange Email

The Douglas County PUD is warning residents about a suspicious message a customer received that could possibly be a scam.

Spokesperson Meaghan Vibbert said the customer received an email about their "East Wenatchee Energy Consumption Status" for January of 2022.

"(The email) doesn't label it as Douglas PUD but it is asking questions about your power outages and if you'd be interested in incentives or rebates for energy conservation."

Vibbert added that the email is certainly not from the Douglas PUD and the PUD does not offer rebates because they don't make financial sense. She suggests if you receive a similar email, just delete it.
