The Douglas County Superior Court will postpone all criminal jury and bench trials until March because of safety concerns with the rise in Omicron COVID-19 infections. The order is only for trials scheduled to begin prior to March 1st.

Superior Court Judge Brian Huber issued the order Thursday. He states that the space available in the courtroom would not be able to accommodate all the necessary COVID-19 protocols.

The order also cites data from the Chelan Douglas Health District that shows that the case rate in the county is more than ten times what it was just a few weeks ago.

The order can be found here.
