A dump truck traveling eastbound on State Route 28 between East Wenatchee and Rock Island rolled over around 2:15 Tuesday afternoon to avoid a more serious collision.

State Patrol Trooper Jeremy Weber stated that after the two vehicles in front of the dump truck came to an abrupt stop, the dump truck went to the right shoulder and eventually off the roadway completely.

Weber said, "When it (went off the shoulder) it turned hard right, causing the truck to roll over onto the driver's side and off of the roadway."

The unnamed truck driver was not injured in the crash. He was cited for following too closely.
