Elderly Man Dies in Grant County Trailer Fire

Firefighters from Grant County District 10 and 11 responded to a structure fire about 4:00 am Friday morning in the 3100 block of Road 13 SW near Royal City.

Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman stated that when firefighters arrived, they discovered a travel trailer on fire. Once the fire was out, crews discovered the remains of an elderly man inside of the trailer.

The victim's body is now in the care of the county coroner who's staff will confirm his identity. They will also notify his next of kin and perform an autopsy.

The fire is under investigation of the Grant County Fire Marshal's Office.

There were no other injuries. No cause has been determined.
