The Grand Coulee Dam School District says there's no danger for students or staff while an investigation of threats continues.

The Grand Coulee Star published a statement from Superintendent Paul Turner who said the district was made aware of a threat of violence toward Lake Roosevelt schools from a student on Wednesday.

Turner says the district worked with police to identify the student in question, who will not be in school until the investigation is concluded.

Turner said the district is being supported by law enforcement, and there's no specific or credible threat to students or staff at this time.

The Star reports Turner sent a statement about the incident at 8:05 a.m. on December 9.

Lake Roosevelt Schools in Coulee City are part of the Grand Coulee Dam School District.
