Grant County Fire District 13 crews responded to a trailer fire Wednesday that threatened to grow due to dry vegetation in the area.

The occupant of the travel trailer was unable to call in the fire as their phone burnt up, but the smoke was seen and called in by many others.

The blaze had started to spread to nearby vegetation and nearly to a rock bluff, but firefighters were able to contain it to half an acre.

Officials say that things are very dry in that area due to getting virtually no rain in March.
