Grant County Fire District 7 Receives Grant Funding for Personal Protective Equipment

Grant County Fire District 7 is using the recently awarded Gesa Credit Union's Local Heroes grant to upgrade self-contained breathing apparatus and purchase personal protective equipment. The district. one of 23 receipents, received $5,000.

"It's important to the community because a lot of the equipment we have is beginning to reach its end of life per all the guidelines," said Chief Kirk Sheppard. "Based on the fact we are on a limited budget that is set by what we can generate through tax revenue and donations, the grant is greatly appreciated funding."

Grant County Fire District 7 serves Lakeview area, city of Soap Lake, up along the Blue Lake Resort area and other nearby locations.
