The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office is warning of a scam involving supposed phone calls from a member of the department.

Deputies say that the intended victims get a call that will have a caller ID that says the Sheriff's Office.

They also have specific information about the intended victims and their professional involvement with the county's court system.

Deputies are investigating the incident.

They are reminding the public that no real Sheriff’s Office or other legitimate Law Enforcement Agency of any kind—local, state, or federal—will demand bail money or anything like it by a telephone call.
