Law enforcement agencies, including Wenatchee Police Department and Washington State Patrol, are in the midst of taking local kids to Hooked on Toys for Shop With a Cop. The annual event serves as an opportunity for law enforcement to take a busload of children from nearby Christmas shopping.

"The kids get a certain amount of money to get things for their family, they'll go with an officer from one of the agencies and go around the store," said Trooper John Bryant. "It's a great event. It's nice to see the kids faces when they come out of the toy store."

The kids head to the local fire station to wrap gifts, eat snacks and take pictures with Santa.

Wenatchee area kids had their turn at Hooked on Toys Tuesday and the second round of kids from Eastmont will go shopping Thursday. East Wenatchee Police Department, Chelan County Sheriff's Office and Douglas County Sheriff's office participate as well.
