Chelan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man who caused several thousands of dollars worth of damage to a Tesla in Leavenworth.

The Tesla was parked at the Bavarian Lodge Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Chelan County Sheriff's Office Chief Adam Musgrove says a 5'10" white male wearing a baseball cap and a dark, puffy, Patagonia-style jacket was caught causing the damage on security film by the Tesla's built-in cameras. At times the suspect was throwing rocks at the car.

"It's possible someone matching the same description was seen causing some damage downtown," stated Musgrove.

On top of those two incidents, about $1,400 worth of items were stolen from downtown vendors near the Front Street gazebo around the same time.

The suspect will likely face a malicious mischief charge if caught, although the severity of the charge depends on the total damage caused. Musgrove adds there has been a nationwide rash of vandalism incidents specifically against Teslas.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chelan County Sheriff's Office at (509) 667-6851.
