Forty Washington State legislators signed a letter to Governor Jay Inslee asking him to reconsider his regionalized reopening plan.

The Governor's Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan has been in effect since January 11th, with none of the state's eight regions meeting even three of the required metrics to move to the next phase yet.

The letter attacks the plan's regionalized approach, saying for example, "Kittitas County has worked very hard to contain the virus and stop its spread, but under your plan it is being tied in with Yakima County who has different challenges, higher population density and higher COVID numbers. This recovery plan is devastating for Ellensburg and the surrounding communities in Kittitas County."

Friday will mark eleven months since Washington State entered a State of Emergency.
