Link Transit and Cashmere Public Library are featuring guest artist, Lisa Robinson, for the February 7th free art workshop. Robinson will provide tips on color combinations and sewing techniques as she guides participants in the creation of an applique collage in the shape of a heart by upcycling clothing.

"This is a fun and sustainable way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We liked the idea of looking at something that might be considered waste and transforming it into something new and beautiful," said Selina Danko, outreach coordinator.

The workshop is from 3-5 and folks can meet at Columbia Station to hitch a free ride via Link bus to the library for the event. Participants are encouraged to wear the art on Wenatchee's First Friday Arts Walk.

“It aligns with Link’s values of supporting a cleaner environment and sustainable living," said Danko.

Supplies, such as sewing machines, are included in the event. There is also a brief informative talk regarding public transportation at the event.

Though the event is free, space is limited. To register, reach out to Danko at 509-664-7624 or email sdanko@linktransit.com.
