Moses Lake Man in Jail After Baby Viciously Assaulted

A Moses Lake man is facing felony charges after police say he seriously beat and injured a 9-week-old baby.

According to the Moses Lake Police Department, officers were called to Samaritan Hospital on Friday for a baby that had sustained 8 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, three leg fractures and injuries to its face and head.

Eventually investigators recovered security video that captured audio of part of the assault, and 21-year-old Donovan Cantu was arrested the next day. Cantu was booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of Assault of a Child in the First Degree.

The baby was flown to Spokane for further treatment.
