The National Weather Service is closely monitoring precipitation levels in North Central Washington since the record breaking snowstorm in early January.

"This is a very dry period since that snow fell, there's been no measurable snowfall in Wenatchee since that record breaking snowfall," said Jeremy Wolf with the National Weather Service

Wolf notes that the current weather pattern is unusual.

"Just the record breaking snowfall by itself was unusual, it broke the record for the snowiest 24 hour period on record to be followed by such a long dry spell was definitely not a common thing," said Wolf.

According to Wolf, there is no cause for alarm at this time.

Since we are in a La Nina year, unusual weather patterns can be expected.
