NCW Libraries is kicking off a $10 million revitalization project expected to be conducted over the next three to five years. NCW Libraries will work alongside city leaders, library patrons and building owners to revamp 28 of its branches to make each library more safe and accessible.

"We're going to be updating spaces and features. It all depends on the conversations we have with the stakeholders on what they want from their library," said Barbara Walters, executive director. "The success of this project is really depend on the communities coming together."

Library patrons and community members will have the opportunity to weigh in on library designs and needs. Library officials plan to start engaging with the community on the project this fall.

The goal is to work on a group of nine to ten libraries at a time.
