Ski and snow board resorts in North Central Washington are still looking for favorable snow conditions to open for the winter.

Mission Ridge near Wenatchee has set Thursday as the day it plans to reopen after suspending operations when the weather turned warm after Thanksgiving weekend.

Stevens Pass has been less specific, only stating the that the target opening day has been pushed back from this past weekend.

Both resorts have posted photos of snow making machines on their Facebook pages, and have suggested snowmaking was in progress.

The Steven Pass website and Facebook pages noted Sunday was the last day to purchase special discount lift tickets.

Mission Ridge has published a schedule, listing Thursday as a possible opening day, with Friday, Saturday and Sunday listed as scheduled days to be open. The schedule shows a full seven-day weekly schedule beginning the following weekend, with night skiing starting the last week in December.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for two inches of snow in higher elevations Monday, with under an inch falling in Wenatchee. Moderate mountain snow is predicted for the Cascades on Wednesday.
