Outgoing Wenatchee School District Superintendent Paul Gordon is headed to the same position at a suburban Chicago district.

The St. Charles School District’s board approved a three-year contract for Gordon Monday evening.

Gordon announced his resignation from Wenatchee during a special board meeting last Thursday, saying it was based on family circumstances that will bring him back to the Midwest.

He is leaving Wenatchee at the end of June, after getting a contract extension and raise in pay to almost $203,000 last June. Gordon was hired to head the Wenatchee district in 2019

At the St. Charles district, Gordon will replace Jason Pearson, who is leaving to become the superintendent of the Northbrook, Illinois School District.

The St. Charles district is about 45 miles outside of Chicago.
