COVID-19 Vaccine distribution has been steady as those associated with the mass vaccination site at the Town Toyota Center gear up for their second week of operation.

The state is currently in Phase 1B Tier 1, meaning everyone 65 and over and those 50 and over in multigenerational households are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The process of scheduling an appointment is still somewhat of a mad rush, but health officials say they are working out the kinks.

According to the Chelan-Douglas Health District, residents can schedule new appointments every Sunday at noon. Appointments can be made at www.prepmod.doh.wa.gov or www.cdhd.wa.gov or by calling the COVID-19 appointment hotline at 1-800-525-0127. The hotline does not have special access to appointments. They use the same scheduling tools available to the public.

Many of those that attempted to make an appointment last week after all the available times were booked were offered a 'wait list' option. Residents who were added to the wait list will be contacted via email on or before Sunday to schedule an appointment in the upcoming weeks at the Town Toyota Center.

At least 700 appointments will be available each day at the Town Toyota Center next week, according to the state Department of Health. Hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Over 1,600 residents received the Pfizer vaccine at the Town Toyota Center in its first week. Those that received the vaccine are asked to return to the same place, at the same time, three weeks later for the second dose.
