A Royal City man is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty in a 2017 fatality accident near Quincy.

Grant County Sheriff's PIO Kyle Foreman said 34-year-old Genaro Vasquez Visoso ran a stop sign at a high rate of speed on Road K NW on October 20th, 2017. His vehicle then struck a 2009 Honda Accord, killing its driver, Kelly Norris of Ephrata.

"Visoso's blood was drawn at Quincy Valley Medical Center and the lab determined that there was methamphetamine and alcohol in his system." Foreman explained, "That was one of the factors  the Jury had to consider in this case."

Visoso was convicted of vehicular homicide last week after a week-long trial. Vehicular homicide is a Class A felony, meaning Visoso could be sentenced to life in prison.

Sentencing has been set for February 24th.
