Republican lawmakers in Olympia are unveiling a plan to invest roughly $400 million a year in revenue from the new Climate Commitment Act.

It's called the ORCA plan, short for Outdoor Recreation and Climate Adaptation.

Representative Mary Dye, the ranking Republican on the House Environment and Energy Committee, said the plan would eliminate the $30 Discover Pass fee, reduce state park fees and upgrade things like trails.

"The Republican plan supports outdoor recreation, and it supports policies that will allow the people in Washington State to adapt to their environment around them to the climate impacts that we will experience."

The state currently has a $425 million maintenance backlog for its parks.

Dye hopes to introduce the plan before the legislature convenes January 10th.
