Stephanie Grisham, former White House Press Secretary and Eastmont High School grad, stepped down from her position as First Lady Melania Trump's Chief of Staff Wednesday.

The move came just hours after pro-Trump demonstrators overran the U.S. Capitol resulting in 4 dead, dozens of members of law enforcement injured, and prompting an evacuation of the building in the middle of the Electoral College certification vote.

In a tweet Grisham said, "It has been an honor to serve the country in the White House. I am very proud to have been a part of First Lady Melania Trump's mission to help children everywhere, & proud of the many accomplishments of this administration."

Grisham had previously worked as a spokesperson for the Arizona Republican Party and on Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign.
