Structure Fire Origin Was Stove Top

Thursday morning at around 8 a.m., Chelan County Fire District No. 1 responded to a structure fire. The structure was previously two story home that had been converted into three apartments. The fire was confined to the first floor and extinguished. Chief Brett advised the fire started on the stove top after a child had accidentally turned on the burner. The fire was contained to the stove and there were no injures nor was anyone displaced from the building. The owners were okayed to occupy the home again by 8:56 a.m. Be sure to use extra caution with cooking equipment when children are present.
