A person accused of causing an overdose death in Kittitas County is now headed home after being found in Hawaii.

Detectives in Ellensburg investigated the overdose death of 21-year-old Sage Francois in August and think the 19-year-old suspect fled to Hawaii to avoid criminal charges.

The suspect was arrested in Kona, Hawaii on Tuesday and is being sent back to Washington.

Police have not named the suspect who is charged with delivering illegal drugs and causing the victim's death.

Officers and Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue was sent to a reported overdose in the 1900 block of North Walnut Street in Ellensburg on August 7. That's where attempts to save the life of Francois failed.

A warrant for the suspect was issued on September 14. Ellensburg Police assisted by the Yakima Federal Violent Crimes Task Force and the Honolulu Police Department finding the suspect on the big Island of Hawaii.
