Vashon Island Man Extricated After Rollover Accident Near Manson

A Vashon Island man was the sole occupant of a one vehicle rollover collision in the Manson area Thursday around 7:40 pm.

Chelan County Sheriff's Sergeant Andy Zimmerman said 76-year-old Allan Riddle was driving a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan eastbound on State Route 150 when he experienced what's being called a "medical issue."

Riddle then left the roadway, rolling down a dirt embankment and eventually striking a house on Waters Edge Lane.

"A car flipped on its side off of the roadway. Subject was inside honking the horn. The fire department said that they would have to extricate." Zimmerman explained, "Patient was extricated and taken to Lake Chelan Community Hospital."

Fire personnel had to cut a hole in the vehicle's roof to get Riddle out. He is said to be in good spirits and recovering well.

Riddle was cited for driving with wheels off the roadway. No one else was injured.
