Washington has been ranked as the best state in the nation for millennials.

A newly released study by the personal finance website WalletHub measured each state and the District of Columbia across 34 key metrics, ranging from share of millennials to millennial unemployment rate to millennial voter-turnout rate.

Washington ranked 1st in affordability, 2nd in economic health and 6th in quality of life. Oregon came in at 15th overall, ranking 4th in civic engagement, while Idaho was 25th overall.

Millennials, loosely defined as those in their mid-20’s to early 40’s, are responsible for 21% of all discretionary spending in the U.S.
