Governor Inslee released a set of restriction tightening up on retail and restaurants on Sunday and the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce continues to be a resource for businesses during the pandemic.

"Businesses in our community have really provided a structured and safe for our community to go where they're enforcing masking and keeping distance and that's different than what's happening in social gatherings," said Sasha Sleiman, government affairs director. "All this effort of our business community has been working. COVID-19 is spreading and at an alarming rate, but it's not within our businesses and our employers."

According to Sleiman, the restrictions were a shock to the business community with businesses adapting their business model to fit COVID-19 mitigation strategies.

"We should really be thinking about how to curb this pandemic from a social standpoint," said Sleiman.

With the holiday season nearing, folks are encouraged to shop local to help foster the Valley's business community through the recent restrictions.

"People are going to get creative. I know this community rises to the occasion, we've risen before," said Sleiman.
