Wenatchee Downtown Association’s Design Committee is searching for artists to paint a downtown mural on Wenatchee Avenue. The mural would be located between Café Mela and The Antique Mall of Wenatchee.

"There has been a painted wall between Café Mela and Antique Mall of Wenatchee for years," said Linda Haglund, executive director. "We thought this was a great opportunity to update that wall with a new mural."

The downtown association is projecting the work will kick off this summer and the mural will be completed by the fall. The association is hopeful for the October deadline because Wenatchee will be hosting the statewide conference for Main Street Communities.

"[The guidelines for the mural] are referencing our historic downtown, showing the diversity of our community and has a relevance to place and connecting people to this place," said Haglund.

Artist proposals are due by May 15 and should include pricing and overall conceptual idea.
