Wenatchee Police are trying to identify a suspect in an assault that occurred just after 1:30 pm Thursday afternoon.

Captain Edgar Reinfeld said two people were waiting at the intersection of Fifth Street and Emerson Avenue when the suspect got out of the vehicle in front of them. He then walked up to their car and punched one of the occupants in the head before getting back in his car and driving away.

"We've been looking for the car the rest of the afternoon to try and identify the suspect. We did have a photo of a vehicle, so that's good, but we don't have a license plate. The license plate did not come through clearly on that image. We are trying to locate that suspected vehicle and see what we can determine happened."

The victim did not need aid.

The suspect is described as an African American male in his mid 30's with a heavy build and a beard. His vehicle appears to be a black Toyota Prius hatchback with a Las Vegas Raiders sticker visible on the back portion.
