The Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce is planning a discussion on the state of tourism in the area for their next Coffee and Commerce April 29th.

Speakers will share updated information regarding tourism and discuss the industry as it emerges from the COVID pandemic.

Destination Marketing Operations Director Jerri Barkley said the makeup of our community includes a variety of industries, but leisure/travel has been the most impacted. The sector has lost almost 3,000 jobs in just the Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area.

"I think it's important for all of us as a community to understand what that impact looks like and, going into the future, the importance of shoring up that industry and helping it get to a point where it's thriving again," said Barkley.

The zoom event is free, although registration is required. A link to register for the online event can be found here.
