There were several fire calls throughout Chelan and Douglas Counties, including near Hale Park in Wenatchee, and the Hot Rod Cafe in Monitor along with smoke checks and illegal burn.

The Chelan County Sheriff's Department also responded to approximately 70 fireworks complaints beginning just after midnight Saturday according to a log provided by Rivercom.

That was a significant jump from the less than 30 last year.

Chelan Deputies were also involved in multiple water rescues throughout the weekend.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to 17 fireworks incidents.

The Moses Lake Fire Department and its neighboring fire department Grant County 5 says they responded to more than 20 combined fires in the area for the 4th of July.

All were firework-related, but there were no injuries nor any threat to property.

The number of fire calls this year was a decrease from last year.

Moses Lake Fire crews also responded to a power pole fire earlier Saturday in the 2900 block of Peninsula. Grant County PUD responded to that scene to fix the power line.
