Big Bend Community College will host its annual Job and Career Fair for the 27th year on March 5 with over 100 employers expected to attend. Employers scheduled to attend include nationally known companies such as Boeing and Amazon along with local entities such as Grant PUD and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

"It's the largest local event that puts potential employees and employers under one roof," said Tiffany Fondren, communications coordinator. "The idea is to connect job seekers with employers in our area. We also want to connect them with area resource agencies."

A LinkedIn workshop with an opportunity to take an updated headshot is also a new feature at the career fair this year. A Big Bend librarian will give a tutorial over how to use the social media platform as a way to land jobs and network.

"We are expecting employers from a variety of industries, including manufacturing, food processing, retail, service industries, health care, education and technology," said Fondren.

A handful of the college's programs that provide job training for these industries will be at the career fair as well.

The Job and Career Fair opens up to the public from 9-2 at the Masto Conference Center, located in the ATEC building on Big Bend's campus.

For those wanting to prepare for the event, Big Bend and WorkSource partners will offer resume and job preparation workshops February 24-28. For more info, contact Big Bend Career Services at 509-793-2068 or WorkSource at 509-766-2559.
