Brush Fire Shuts Down Grant County Road Temporarily

Grant County Sheriff's Deputies closed Road 19 NE south of Soap Lake between SR 17 and Road A NE due to a brush fire.

The blaze burned in grass and brush for about half an acre before it was contained.

Our news partner iFiberOne says it started in the backyard of a home, destroying the five bedroom building, two RVs, a shed and a boat before jumping to an alfalfa field.

It took about two hours to bring the fire under control.

The cause is under investigation.
