Cake Chic Cookies Help Vets Serve Vets

Vets Serving Vets were selling cookies courtesy of Cake Chic in front of the KPQ studios on Wenatchee Avenue Wednesday morning from 7:00 am to 9:00 am.

Ron Bruno with Vets Serving Vets said he considers those within the organization to be navigators.

"Even this morning I've had a couple people come in that have picked up some cookies and gave us a small donation." Bruno explained, "At the same time they have questions for me about their husband. What does their husband qualify for? Can their husband get some kind of health benefits? I told them, 'That's exactly what we're about!'"

Bruno added that the money raised will go to providing holiday meals and food boxes to veterans in the community. Some of the money raised may also go to buying winter clothing for vets later in the year.
