As Pangborn Memorial Airport improves their infrastructure, the Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority is looking to add destinations, such as an agreement to fly to San Francisco that could still happen.

Executive Director Jim Kuntz says they want to make sure Alaska Airlines gets back on its feet first, but that Wenatchee is one of the best markets to get passengers back on airplanes.

"The Regional Port has been, over the past month, talking to multiple airlines about additional service out of Pangborn. This is the first time in a long time that we've had earnest conversations with airlines."

He says they're optimistic because airlines like the market and its economic recovery.

He mentioned, in addition to San Francisco, locations like Burbank, CA and Denver as possibilities.
