Chelan Fire and Rescue crews were able to respond to, and contain a three-quarters acre brush fire in the area of Hale Road and South Lakeshore Road near 25 Mile Creek.

The blaze started a little before 3:00 p.m. in trees and was reportedly threatening a structure.

According to the Department's Facebook, the cause of the fire is under investigation but there was a report of 7-10 popping noises in the area approximately 30 minutes before the fire started.

The fire was under control in about three hours with DNR mopping up.
