The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is currently accepting application packets from nominees to fill seven vacancies on the Resource Advisory Committee.

The committee consists of 15 members that review proposed Secure Rural Schools Self-Determination Act Title II projects for national forest lands in Chelan, Okanogan, Kittitas and Yakima counties. The committee then makes funding priority recommendations for the projects.

"Those vacancies are in energy, mineral development or recreational fishing groups, archaeology and historical interests, timber activity, organized labor or non-timber forest product harvester groups and more," said Robin DeMario, public affairs officer.

Members must live in one of the four counties and be able to make three or four meetings each year. Committee members serve a four year term.

The application can be downloaded from the website and is encouraged to be submitted before December 18th.
