Douglas County Solid Waste Preps for a Tire Collection Event

Douglas County Solid Waste and Washington Department of Ecology are sponsoring a future tire collection event. No date has been set, but Solid Waste is collecting information to determine the demand for tire disposal.

"We've got a lot (of residents' inquiring about the service) coming in. So I believe there is a high demand on getting rid of tires," Christina Lohr, Solid Waste representative.

Light truck or car tires that aren't needed will be accepted, however the tires cannot be on rims.  Interested residents can send their information to Lohr at clohr@co.douglas.wa.us or 509-888-6612. The information needed is name, address, phone number, number of tires in need of disposal, the type and size of tires.
