Douglas County residents, not businesses, are invited to a paper shredding event, including sensitive and legal documents, on September 14 from 9-12. The Douglas County Solid Waste is hosting the event and has some do's and don't on what to bring to be shredded.

The junk mail that's been stacking up, legal documents or documents with sensitive information such as tax and payroll records and cancelled checks are okay. Paper, both colored and white, insurance policies and sticky notes are also okay. Don't bring binders, glass/plastic, cardboard, newspapers, trash and paper plates.

The event will be at 19 McElmurry Lane.
