East Wenatchee Nurse License Suspended by Department of Health

The Washington State Department of Health is charging Dorene Filion with abuse of an elder and suspending her license to practice as a registered nurse.

She is charged with using a folded bed sheet to secure a 94-year-old East Wenatchee nursing home resident to a toilet and an apron to keep the woman on a chair when eating.

In documentation from the Department of Health, Filion says she used the bed sheet as the woman would not stay on the toilet, and she used the apron because her charge would not sit still and eat other residents' food.

According to DOH, Filion can’t be employed in caring for or having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults.
