East Wenatchee to Enforce Truck Routes

The City of East Wenatchee will begin enforcing the city's truck routes beginning October 1st.

According to the Public Works Department, commercial vehicles disturb residents and damage city streets, which are not designed for heavy loads. Vehicles that need to comply with the truck routes are those with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of over 26,000 pounds.

In East Wenatchee, the only full service commercial truck routes are SR28 (Sunset Highway) and Grant Road. Eastmont Avenue and 9th Street Northeast do have an exception for commercial vehicles hailing agricultural commodities.

Vehicles found to be in violation will receive a $200 fine.
