Eastmont Superintendent Search Down to Two Finalists

The Eastmont School Board will interview two finalists next week in their superintendent search.

Out of five interviewees, the Eastmont School Board chose Colfax School District Superintendent Jerry Pugh and Dr. Becky Berg, currently Associate Superintendent of the American School of Dubai. Both candidates began their teaching career in Washington State and both received their superintendent credential from Washington State University.

Search Consultant Sergio Hernandez said the district will host one candidate each day February 22nd and 23rd. Each candidate will meet with various groups, get interviews by the school board and then participate in a community meet and great in the evening.

"They will introduce themselves and then the community will be able to engage with them." explained Hernandez, "There will be opportunities to submit questions."

The community forums will be held in the Eastmont Junior High Auditorium at 7:00 pm Tuesday and Wednesday. There is also an online option. For a link, visit the Eastmont School District website.

Eastmont's next superintendent could be announced as early as next Thursday.

Current Eastmont Superintendent Garn Christensen is retiring at the end of June after service 15 years in the position.
