Fatal Accident Near Ellensburg Claims Life of Ellensburg Man

29-year-old Thomas R. Conger of Ellensburg died when his truck was hit by a semi after he ran a stop sign west of Ellensburg Sunday afternoon.

The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office says Conger was driving southbound on Cove Road shortly after 3:00 when he ran the stop sign at Hanson Road and was struck by the semi driven by a Moses Lake man.

The Sheriff's Office says there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved.

Sheriff Clay Meyers released a statement saying, "It is always a tragedy when we lose a member of our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Conger's family and friends."

The Sheriff's Office did not release any cause for why Conger ran the stop sign.
