Representative Dan Newhouse gave an update on the infrastructure agreement agreed to last week by Senate Republican leadership and the White House.

Congressman Newhouse said the group is just starting to get words on paper, so there has not been a ton of detail, but Republicans want to see traditional infrastructure like roads, bridges and airports.

"A lot of the progressive Democrats and many on the other side want to widely expand the definition of infrastructure and pay for a lot of different things that may be good, but are not typical infrastructure items," stated Newhouse.

The infrastructure legislation, which has been described as more of a framework at the present, would take the form of two separate packages. In total, the bills would cost an estimated $950 billion.
