Grant County Fire District 3 crews responded to a brush fire along Crescent Bar Road Wednesday morning a little before 7:30 a.m.

Chief Don Fortier says the fire was going up the hill towards some houses.

"At last report it was five acres but it is contained and under control. It's in mop up status."

There was some concern about the homes on Trinidad, but Fortier says they had a lot of defensible space to protect the structures.

Crews got the blaze under control in about 90 minutes, but fire trucks are still along the road in the area through the early afternoon.

If you drive by the area, please be extra cautious.
