Fire Crews Battle Haystack Blaze on Road 7 NW

Grant County Fire District 13 and Ephrata Fire crews responded to a tractor fire on the 2400 block of Road 7 NW that had spread to a nearby 150-ton haystack.

They were able to quickly extinguish the implement before moving on to containing the hay fire.

Strong winds hampered efforts and the haystack then spotted over two hundred yards away into cattle bedding.

Thanks to an assist from the dairy, they were to able to contain the blaze and get it put out.
