Thirty-one semi-finalists are in the running for $325,000 in this year's Flywheel investment competition for start-up companies.

The Flywheel Angel Network of investors will narrow the field again to the top companies who will travel to compete live in Wenatchee next month (May 18-19).

The Network calls itself a group of angel investors who are passionate about supporting economic development in North Central Washington.

It forms a new company (Limited Liability Corporation) every year to invest in the winners of the Flywheel Conference.

The conference itself is meant to support and promote startups across Washington State.

The Flywheel Angel Network initially received 77 applications from founders to compete at the 2022 Flywheel Investment Conference.

The group says this year's investment awards will be the highest monetary offering in its history.

The investment awards total over $275,000, but rises to more that $325,000 when combined with a relocation offer of $50,000.
