Grant County Sheriff K9 Hawk received a bullet and stab protective vest this week thanks to an Ephrata woman Marjorie Lacoy.

The Department posted on their Facebook page that the armor is provided by Vested Interest in K9s Inc. out of Massachusetts.

This particular vest will embroidered with the sentiment, "In memory of Gordon Lacoy."

Speaking of K9s, The Okanogan County Sheriff's Office welcomed a new K9 officer to their team this week.

Deputy Preston Ray and Elsa completed their training this past fall and are now out on patrol.
