Grant County Sheriff's K9 Chewbacca helped find a domestic violence suspect this week who had allegedly threatened to stab his girlfriend with a screwdriver.

Chief Deputy Joe Kriete said deputies arrived to the scene and soon established probable cause to arrest 26-year-old Tyler JD Hill of Moses Lake.

"He had actually left the trailer before the deputies had got there. They got information on the direction that he had left and at that point our K9 Chewy started a track." explained Kriete, "He was located on the south end of the property hiding in a truck camper."

According to the sheriff's office, Hill was charged with misdemeanor assault.
